Dr Christian Keller

The Baden-Württemberg native, who was born in Donaueschingen in 1978, has been the Managing Director responsible for sporting matters at 1. FC Köln GmbH & Co. KGaA since 1 April 2022. Dr Keller previously worked as Managing Director at SSV Jahn Regensburg GmbH & Co. KGaA from 2013 until 2021, where he was responsible for sporting matters as well as commercial and administrative functions. Prior to that, Dr Keller held posts as a strategy consultant – with clients that included professional sports organisations – and as Professor and Dean of Studies for Sport Management at SRH University Heidelberg. Dr Keller earned his doctorate at the University of Tübingen in 2008. Before progressing to his doctoral studies, he successfully completed an MBA in international business development and a degree (Diplom) in foreign trade, both at the ESB Business School in Reutlingen. Dr Keller holds an A license for coaching from the German Football Association (DFB) and is a member of the Association of German Football Coaches (BDFL). He was elected to the Supervisory Board of DFL GmbH on 3 March 2023 by the Members Assembly of DFL e.V.
