16 December 2021 – The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga was today unveiled as the official Launch Partner of Ignition, SportsPro’s dedicated sports and technology event, which is set to take place from 26-27 January. At its core, the Ignition platform is a showcase of the most exciting and innovative tech-enabled solutions driving the future of sport.
Alongside an experiential programme of product demos and industry thought leaders, Ignition will incorporate its’ inaugural innovation competition, designed to recognise the most forward-thinking tech providers, as judged by a global panel of experts.
The pinnacle of the competition will see the DFL present the “SportsInnovation” Award, and work in partnership with SportsPro to rovide the winner with significant support throughout 2022. This will include a $100,000 growth package across SportsPro’s media and event portfolio and direct involvement in the DFL’s dedicated sports technology event SportsInnovation 2022, which takes place on 11-12 May 2022.
The DFL has long been at the forefront of innovation in sport, leading the way in areas such as 5G, customisable broadcasts, and vertical streaming.
Ignition focuses on the solutions designed to advance a sports organisations’ off-pitch operations and relationship with its fans. The principle themes are In Venue, Media & Consumption, Data & Analytics, Fan Engagement and Commerce.
The launch of the SportsInnovation Award as the showpiece of the Ignition Innovation Competition will provide a fantastic opportunity for the industry’s leading tech providers to be recognised for their work and benefit from a hugely valuable prize.
