VBL Grand Final by WOW: Who will be the German VBL Champion 2024?
16 April 2024 – End of the season in the WOW Virtual Bundesliga (VBL): The VBL Grand Final by WOW will take place next weekend. A total of 32 players will compete for the individual title of German VBL Champion 2024. The matches are played using EA SPORTS FC 24TM.
Schedule
The VBL Grand Final will take place from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 April 2024. An English-language broadcast will be available on the Bundesliga YouTube channel and the EA SPORTS Twitch channel from the start of the knockout phase, on Saturday 5:30 p.m., ending after the final match on Sunday evening.
Participants
A total of 32 participants will compete for the title on the PlayStation 5. Of these, twelve players have qualified for the VBL Grand Final via the playoffs of the VBL Open by WOW. A further 20 players have qualified via the VBL Club Championship by WOW, the competition between clubs of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 that has been anchored in the statutes of the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga for the first time this season.

Game mode
The VBL Grand Final is being played using EA SPORTS FC 24, in “Ultimate Team” (UT) mode, in which all competitors can put together their teams using players from all 36 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs.
The 32 participants will start by playing a group phase. The best players will qualify for the round of 16, which will be played as a knockout phase. All matches will be played with a first and second leg, the player who scores more accumulated goals in both matches is the winner.
Title and prizes
In addition to the title of German VBL Champion, the VBL Grand Final also offers players a prize pool of 100,000 euros. The German Champion will receive a share of 40,000 euros. The two finalists will also claim a seat at the EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championship, in which the best players from other national leagues and other international tournaments will compete for the title of FC Pro World Champion. In addition, the winner and runner-up, as well as the other two semi-finalists, will also receive a starting place in the UEFA eChampions League.
About the Virtual Bundesliga
The VBL, which was founded in 2012 as a partnership between the DFL and EA SPORTS, remains to this day the only competition of a professional football league to be directly integrated in the EA SPORTS FC game series.
