At the interface between sport, society, and business, the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH is responsible for the organization and marketing of the Bundesliga and ensures optimal framework conditions for German professional football. DFL GmbH takes care of the game plan and is responsible for the licensing procedure recognized throughout Europe to ensure fair and stable competition. In addition, the 36 professional clubs have entrusted DFL GmbH with the task of marketing the media rights in the best possible way on a global scale and thus contributing to a considerable part of the financing of German professional football. For our team in Frankfurt, Germany we are looking for a

Head of Digital Marketing & Campaigns (m/f/d) 

Your highly-developed affinity for content marketing and social media will give you the outstanding opportunity to define and develop the digital marketing strategy of Bundesliga as well as the strategy and direction of Bundesliga`s campaigns – in close collaboration with DFL group stakeholders. You are also responsible for digital partnerships for increasing reach of the Bundesliga.

Here’s what’s waiting for you on the pitch: 

  • Defining and developing the digital marketing strategy (esp. own & operated Channels) of Bundesliga in close collaboration with DFL group stakeholders
  • Oversee strategy and concept for Bundesliga’s marketing and brand campaigns in close alignment for implementation with internal stakeholders and agencies
  • Develop and expand digital partnerships with broadcast partners, content partners, commercial partners for increasing global and local reach of the Bundesliga
  • Serve as digital business development contact for broadcasters and content partners and develop content partnership strategy for Bundesliga related activities
  • Responsibility for DFL’s digital marketing budgets
  • Identify, develop, and nurture relationships with international partners and digital point of contacts of Bundesliga clubs
  • Work across all internal teams and create detailed briefings outlining roles and responsibilities, establish digital workflows for the DFL Group and international offices

Here’s what should be in your sports bag: 

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Journalism, Media or Communication studies
  • 10+ years’ proven record in (Digital) Marketing, Advertising, Social Media, Business Development, Strategy Consulting, Sales and/or Account Management
  • Experience in managing project teams and skills development
  • Fluency in English; German would be beneficial
  • Basic understanding of programming, digital product management and infrastructure behind digital offerings

  • Have strong knowledge of global and local digital trends, developments, and social media landscape as well as a track record in conceptualizing and executing campaigns
  • Have a deep understanding of how to use analytics to drive decision making
  • Have a high motivation to achieve outstanding results  
  • Have a hands-on mentality and a love of developing your own ideas and putting them into practice  
  • Have very strong communication skills and a high sense of responsibility
  • Can influence and engage various stakeholder groups
  • Have the desire to be part of a team and continually develop its output
