Philip Sagioglou

Philip Sagioglou, born in 1989 in Cologne, has been a member of the DFL Management Board and Executive Vice President of Communications & Corporate Development since December 2025. The trained journalist and sports management graduate had previously worked for the DFL for more than six years from 2017, most recently serving as Senior Vice President with global responsibility for corporate communications. During this period, he was also part of the DFL’s core team for COVID-19 crisis management and was closely involved in strategic corporate projects. After serving as a partner at a management consultancy specialising in strategic communication and transformation from 2023 to 2025, he returned to the DFL.

At the beginning of his professional career, Philip Sagioglou worked for several years as a journalist. After completing an editorial traineeship at Cologne’s largest daily newspaper, the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, he continued working there and also contributed to Welt am Sonntag, Sportschau and other media before joining the DFL for the first time.
