Fernando Carro, born in 1964 in Barcelona, has been CEO at Bayer 04 Leverkusen Fußball GmbH since 1 July 2018.

His Abitur exams at the German School in Barcelona were followed by training as an industrial management assistance and a Master of Business and Engineering course at the University of Karlsruhe. After completing his studies, Carro joined Bertelsmann AG in Gütersloh. He worked in senior management roles, most recently at Bertelsmann subsidiary Arvato, which he also represented as a member of the Bertelsmann SE board.

He has been a member of the Supervisory Board of DFL GmbH since the 2025 General Assembly.
