Matches scheduled up to the winter break

26 September 2019 – The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has released the exact schedules for all matches in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 up to the winter break. As has been customary in recent times, the Bundesliga will see mid-week games in December, with the relevant matches of Matchday 16 taking place on 17 and 18 December. The last matchday of the first half of the season will start with the Friday evening game between TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund (20 December, 8:30 p.m. CEST).

In Bundesliga 2, there will be, among other games, two encounters between clubs that played in the Bundesliga last season: On Matchday 16, the current league leaders VfB Stuttgart will host 1. FC Nürnberg (Monday, 9 December, 8:30 p.m. CEST). On Matchday 18, Hannover 96 will face VfB Stuttgart (Saturday, 21 December, 1:00 p.m., CEST).

Both leagues’ final matches of the 2019 calendar year will take place on Sunday, 22 December. As the winter break begins, 17 matchdays will have been played in the Bundesliga, while Bundesliga 2 will have completed 18 matchdays following its earlier start to the season. The two leagues will sync up again at the end of the winter break, with the Bundesliga starting the second half of the season on the weekend from 17 to 19 January 2020 and Bundesliga 2 resuming play with mid-week matches between 28 and 30 January 2020.

The next exact schedules are expected to be announced in calendar week 45 (4 to 8 November).
