9 December 2019 – The Bundesliga is heating up yet again: With roughly 3.3 goals per match, the league remains the highest-scoring top flight in Europe for the 29th season running, the only exception being the 2016-17 season. Moreover, a close battle in every region of the league table is under way in the run-up to Christmas – especially at the top of the table: Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig are engaged in a thrilling neck-and-neck race for first place, followed by a mere two points’ difference between third-placed Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern München in seventh.
To mark the closing stages of this exciting first half of the season the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has unveiled its new “HERBSTFINALE” campaign in multiple languages and with individualised content for all 18 clubs of the Bundesliga. With the theme “Bundesliga autumn is getting wild”, players from each club star in short video clips to promote the spectacular run up to the winter break. Before the first half of the season ends on 22 December, there will be 27 Bundesliga matches in the space of ten days.
Who will be top of the table during the winter break? Which teams will be in the top six over the new year? Which clubs will hibernate in the relegation zone? How will the form of each team develop until Christmas? The answers will follow in the coming days.
The contents of the international campaign can be seen from 9 to 22 December on the channels of the Bundesliga and the Bundesliga clubs as well as in selected media outlets. The campaign was created in cooperation with the DFL lead agency “The Brand Orchestra” from Berlin.
