Fixtures until the end of September

10 July 2019 – The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga today released the exact schedule for the matches in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 until the end of September. Fixtures have now been scheduled until Matchday 6 in the Bundesliga and Matchday 8 in Bundesliga 2.

The 57th season of the Bundesliga will open with the Bundesliga champions, FC Bayern München, playing host to Hertha Berlin on Friday, 16 August (20:30 CEST). The first Saturday evening match of the season will be the encounter between Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Schalke 04 on 17 August (18:30 CEST). As usual, the match schedule allows for German participation in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League and a regeneration period of at least two full days after every European match. The same regeneration period was also taken into account in the scheduling of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Bundesliga matches, assuming successful qualification for the Europa League group stage.

In Bundesliga 2, which starts on 26 July, three weeks earlier than the Bundesliga, the schedule for the first two matchdays has already been set. Matchdays 3 to 8, which have now been scheduled, will include a Hamburg derby between FC St. Pauli and Hamburger SV (16 September, 20:30 CEST) and an encounter between the two teams relegated from the Bundesliga, Hannover 96 and 1. FC Nürnberg (30 September, 20:30 CEST).

The exact schedule for the next Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 fixtures is expected to be announced between 2 and 7 September, following the draw for the group phase of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
