DFL releases exact schedule for Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 fixtures up to end of November

2 September 2021 – The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga today published the schedule for further matches of the 2021-22 season. Exact fixtures and timings have been scheduled up to Matchday 13 in the Bundesliga and up to Matchday 15 in Bundesliga 2. The schedule was determined on the basis of the information on the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League that is now available.

In the Bundesliga, the sides currently second and third in the table respectively, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Bayern München, will meet on Matchday 8 (Sunday, 17 October, 3:30 p.m. CEST), while Matchday 11 will see Champions League participants RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund go head-to-head (Saturday, 6 November, 6:30 p.m. CET). Fixtures taking place on Matchday 12 include the Bavarian duel between FC Augsburg and FC Bayern München (Friday, 19 November, 8:30 p.m. CET) and the Berlin derby between 1. FC Union and Hertha Berlin (Saturday, 20 November, 6:30 p.m. CET), while Matchday 13 includes the Rhine derby between 1. FC Köln and Borussia Mönchengladbach (Saturday, 27 November, 3:30 p.m. CET).

In addition, three out of a total of ten relief matches per season are scheduled between Matchdays 7 and 13. In the interests of the clubs participating in the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Europa Conference League, these relief matches will be played on Sundays at 7:30 p.m. CEST/CET: DSC Arminia Bielefeld versus Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Matchday 7 (3 October), VfL Bochum 1848 versus Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 9 (24 October) and SpVgg Greuther Fürth versus Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 11 (7 November).

In the Bundesliga 2, current leader SSV Jahn Regensburg will visit the side currently in second place, SC Paderborn 07, on Matchday 10 (Friday, 15 October, 6:30 p.m. CEST). Matches scheduled for the next day include the encounter between Hamburger SV and Fortuna Düsseldorf (Saturday, 16 October, 8:30 p.m. CEST). Matchday 14 will see SV Werder Bremen and FC Schalke 04 face off (Saturday, 20 November, 8:30 p.m. CET).

The next set of fixtures for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 are expected to be announced between 1-5 November.
