19 June 2019 – In our latest Focus: Tomorrow video, we find out how the DFL’s innovative measures work in a match day context, helping Bundesliga clubs to reach peak performance and providing partners with access to valuable information. We go behind the scenes and hear from those on the front line to learn about:

  • How technology and data analysis is deployed in the Bundesliga today, and how it might be deployed in the future.
  • The innovations already helping to improve teams and individual players, and how innovation will continue to do so.
  • How data gathering and data analysis have changed football, and how clubs, coaches and players make effective use of it.

Data has radically changed the world of football, and the DFL is helping to optimise the Bundesliga clubs’ ability to benefit from access to live data from Sportec Solutions, the DFL’s in-house data provider. In one of the most comprehensive match day services in the industry, advanced systems track the precise position of each player and the ball up to 25 times per second.

See how Bundesliga teams are using data to create new training techniques, select their match day squads and make difficult in-play decisions, and learn about the further potential that data offers through artificial-intelligence tracking technology which is poised to revolutionise the game. We accompany the video analysis team from Bayer 04 Leverkusen, get a first-hand look at how Eintracht Frankfurt uses tracking data, and peek over the shoulder of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim head coach Julian Nagelsmann as he utilises the club’s high-tech training facilities to prepare his squad for their next challenge.
