DFL Economic Report

In its Economic Report (formerly Bundesliga Report), the DFL publishes the cumulative economic figures for the 36 clubs and companies of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 in the first quarter of every year. Each report presents the figures for the most recently completed season. Among other things, it shows the total revenue of the clubs, German professional football as a whole, and the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 individually.

The DFL economic report also presents the total assets, the income statement and the ratio of payroll costs for match operations to total revenue, and groups the clubs by payroll costs for match operations and by league table position. In addition to revenue and expenditure, the DFL economic report includes the following figures for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2: the taxes and levies paid to the financial authorities and social security institutions, the number of people employed directly or indirectly in German professional football, and figures concerning ticket sales. This data is compared with the previous financial years in order to illustrate the economic development of German professional football over a longer period of time.
