15 October 2025 – Bundesliga Dream Thailand 3.0 wrapped up last week as youngsters from the team made up of Under-15 Thai players flourished on and off the pitch during a training camp in Germany, hosted by Bundesliga clubs FC Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The fortnight-long camp with players selected from across Thailand included training sessions with experienced coaches from Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, who passed on tips about tactics, player development, nutrition and all the important aspects of becoming a pro footballer.

The squad trained at the academy facilities of the Bundesliga clubs, soaking up the daily routines designed to bring out the best in young players. The unique experience for the Thai youngsters was captured by a film crew from PPTV, the Bundesliga’s long-standing broadcaster in Thailand.

On the pitch, the Thai youngsters put what they had learnt into practice. Their matches against local youth teams were a fantastic showcase of their team spirit, determination and passion for football when the Thai U15 Dream Team played friendlies, against VfB Stuttgart, Augsburg, Eintracht Frankfurt and TSG Wieseck.

They saved the best for last with a 4-2 win over Wieseck, a feeder club of Eintracht Frankfurt.

The players were also treated to an insight into the life of a professional footballer, when they met current Thailand International Nicholas Mickelson, a defender for Bundesliga 2 club SV Elversberg, who spoke to the team in the build-up to their final match.

The trip also gave the players the opportunity to explore the sights and sounds of Augsburg and Frankfurt, culminating in experiencing Football As It’s Meant To Be first-hand by soaking up the atmosphere of a live Bundesliga match when reigning champions FC Bayern München played at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Bundesliga Dream Thailand 3.0 is the latest edition of a scheme which gives youth footballers a pathway to play top-level football in Germany. There are also Bundesliga Dream projects running in South Korea, Thailand, India and China.

The German league has long been considered the European home of talent from Asia, with more Asian players showcased in Germany’s top-flight in the last 20 years than the other top four European leagues combined.
