Stephan Schippers was born in Mönchengladbach in 1967. He studied business administration and qualified as a tax advisor. After working in tax advising and auditing, he joined Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1999. Schippers has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH since 2010.
