Training to prevent match fixing concluded

6 February 2019 – In time for the 31 January 2019 deadline, all 36 professional clubs of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 have trained their professional squads to prevent match fixing. This training, which is obligatory in the current 2018-19 season for the first time, following a unanimous resolution by the DFL members’ meeting on 12 December 2017, must take place annually during a season by 31 January.

Clubs have been obliged to take suitable measures every year to prevent match fixing in the U16 to U23 age groups at the academies since the 2014-15 season. Making this training obligatory for professional squads now is one of many further measures being taken by the DFL to prevent match fixing. Other measures include updating the website gemeinsam-gegen-spielmanipulation.de/en, a new DFL Integrity App and a new e-learning tutorial. More information is available here.
