21.06.2018 – The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga was among the winners at the renowned “German Brand Award”. At today’s ceremony in Berlin, the DFL was named “Digital Brand of the Year”, claiming the top prize “Best of Best” in the most prestigious category, “Excellence in Branding”. In addition, the DFL MAGAZINE won a “German Brand Award” in the “Brand Creation – Web & Mobile” category as “Winner”. The German Design Council and the German Brand Institute present the “German Brand Award” in recognition of successful brands, consistent brand management and sustainable brand communication.
Back in 2012, the DFL set up DFL Digital Sports, a centre of expertise in which the “Visual Design” department is also a key pillar. At the start of the 2017-18 season, the brand presence of the Bundesliga and the Bundesliga 2 as well as the DFL was overhauled and optimised for all platforms. This move placed an even greater focus on the requirements of digitalisation and shifting patterns in media use.
Explaining its decision, the jury said: “The extensive revamp of the DFL paid close attention to every aspect and focused on digital media with their high technical standards just as much as on conventional print materials.”
