Supercup tickets: DFL warns of ‘short selling’

18 June 2019 – The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga is warning against buying tickets for the Supercup 2019 on the unauthorised secondary market, for example the online ticket platform Viagogo. Tickets for the match are already being offered there even though official ticket sales have not yet begun. If customers enter into such ‘short sales’ of tickets, they run the risk of not receiving any tickets at all or of not being admitted to the stadium with tickets purchased on the unauthorised secondary market. The DFL considers such offers to be anti-competitive and therefore sent Viagogo a written warning today (Tuesday), reserving the right to take further legal action.

The official, general sale of tickets for the match between Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund and the Bundesliga winner FC Bayern München will begin on 3 July. Tickets will then be available from Borussia Dortmund’s ticket offices, the BVB call centre, the BVB-FanWelt service centre and the BVB online ticket shop.

Borussia Dortmund season-ticket holders will have the right of first refusal and – exclusively in the Borussia online ticket shop – the opportunity to book their reserved seat. The deadline for this pre-sale is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, 30 June 2019. At FC Bayern München, applications for tickets from the available contingent are currently being accepted in writing, by fax or online.

The Supercup will kick off at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, 3 August.
