DFL General Assembly 2022: Appointment of members of Executive Committee, Supervisory Board and Licensing Committee for the next term

17 August 2022 – At the General Assembly of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga e.V. in Dortmund today, the 36 clubs of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 decided on the members of the DFL Executive Committee for the next three years until 2025.

Hans-Joachim Watzke (Borussia Dortmund) was re-elected as First Deputy Speaker of the DFL e.V. Executive Committee and thus as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DFL GmbH, Oliver Leki (Sport-Club Freiburg) as Second Deputy Speaker of the Executive Committee and thus Deputy Chairman of the DFL Supervisory Board, and Steffen Schneekloth (Holstein Kiel) as Third Deputy Speaker of the Executive Committee. The other members of the nine-person DFL Executive Committee are Jan-Christian Dreesen (FC Bayern München) and Axel Hellmann (Eintracht Frankfurt), who were elected by the Bundesliga Sub-Assembly, Oke Göttlich (FC St. Pauli) and Holger Schwiewagner (SpVgg Greuther Fürth), who were elected by the Bundesliga 2 Sub-Assembly, as well as the CEO of DFL GmbH Donata Hopfen in her function as Speaker of the Executive Committee and Ansgar Schwenken, member of the DFL Management Board and DFL Director of Football Affairs & Fans, as member of the Executive Committee.

In addition to Hans-Joachim Watzke and Oliver Leki, the other members of the DFL Supervisory Board, who number six in total, were also appointed for three years at the General Assembly. The furthers members are Fredi Bobic (Hertha Berlin) and Rüdiger Fritsch (SV Darmstadt 98), who were appointed by the General Assembly, Stephan Schippers (Borussia Mönchengladbach), appointed by the Bundesliga Sub-Assembly, and Ralf Huschen (SC Paderborn 07), appointed by the Bundesliga 2 Sub-Assembly.

Jan-Christian Dreesen was confirmed as Chairman of the Licensing Committee of the DFL e.V., who has final say within the association on licensing decisions. Thomas Treß (Borussia Dortmund) was elected as the Deputy Chairman. The other members of the Licensing Committee are Oliver Frankenbach (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Christina Rühl-Hamers (FC Schalke 04), elected by the Bundesliga Sub-Assembly, and Gerrit Floruß (1. FC Heidenheim 1846) and Dirk Weissert (SpVgg Greuther Fürth), elected by the Bundesliga 2 Sub-Assembly.
