Youngest Bundesliga of all time: Average age in the 2018-19 season is the lowest ever

25.09.2018 - In the current 2018-19 season, the average age of Bundesliga players is 24.4 years. Never has this figure, recorded after the deadline of this year‘s summer transfer window, been lower in the history of the Bundesliga. The players’ average age has fallen by 0.1 years compared to the previous season and by more than 2.5 years compared to the 2001-02 season (27.1). The figure includes all 559 eligible professional players from the current squads of the 18 Bundesliga clubs, which spent a total of €428 million on new players in the latest transfer window (1 July to 31 August).
